With a history dating back over 20 years, the Antares has always been Shimano’s flagship baitcasting reel series, and the latest Antares B version continues the trend. With its sleek futuristic design, this work of art is one of the most versatile baitcasting reels in the Shimano line up. Available in three different gear speed options, the lightweight magnesium body is equipped with advanced gearing, drag and casting technology to meet the expectations of the most demanding anglers worldwide.
While the Antares can handle just about any lure you throw at it, its real brilliance shines in finesse fishing. When you need to cast ultra-light lures with pinpoint accuracy, this reel redefines what’s possible. Finesse jigs, soft plastics, Ned rigs, and bait finesse techniques? The Antares handles them effortlessly. And when it’s time to tie on a crankbait or swimbait, its powerful drivetrain is ready to perform. Whether you’re all about finesse or like to mix it up, the Antares brings unmatched versatility and precision to every cast. And when you hook into a larger than expected fish, you can be totally confident that the super smooth Cross Carbon Drag will give you the precision and control you need to overcome all situations.
The Antares owes its impressive casting performance to the cutting-edge SVS Infinity braking system and the latest Magnumlite Spool (MGL IV). Crafted from Ultra Duraluminium with a S3D design, it takes full advantage of Silent Tune technology to reduce even the slightest vibrations. This means casting lighter baits with less effort and achieving greater distances. Inside, the HAGANE Body houses Micromodule gearing and X-SHIP, delivering seamless smoothness and powerful cranking efficiency, while the Cross Carbon Drag and Exciting Drag Sound enhances the thrill of every fight. With its premium look, feel, and handling, the Antares is every bit a flagship baitcasting reel, ready to maintain and enhance the Antares reputation for many years to come.
