The Shimano Aero Technium MgS is widely regarded as the ultimate long range reel. It is a unique reel, made from Shimano’s newest, ground breaking distance technology, including a longer 45mm spool and the slowest oscillation ever produced. The list of features is remarkable and every element of Shimano’s long range technology has been used.
The Aero Technium MgS is Shimano’s ultimate long range reel. If you are the type of angler who wants the very best, without compromise, then look no further - this is it.
In the never ending quest for perfection, Shimano has re-imagined the future of ultra long range reels and for the first time combined a new spool design with its world renowned Super Slow 10 Oscillation. It’s a combination that you can see, and it’s a combination that you can feel, especially when you launch your leads to the horizon. And not only does it cast like nothing else you will have ever experienced, with a line up of engineering technology straight from Shimano’s top drawer, it also feels silky smooth and reassuringly powerful when in use.
The list of features of this reel is remarkable: every element of available Shimano technology has been used.A HAGANE body made from Magnesium is incredibly light, yet unbelievably tough. HAGANE Gear and X-SHIP for maximum strength, Infinity Drive and Silent Drive for increased winding power, smoothness and durability and a single piece bail arm in Titanium to perfectly guide your line to the roller. There’s also X-Protect water protection.
The most notable feature is a 45mm stoke spool with Super Slow 10 Oscillation, which combine to minimise line friction when casting. To squeeze even more distance potential from your casting, Rigid Cast increases shaft strength for less deflection when under maximum force.
Shimano's new class leading, super sleek, incredibly long range superstar.
The Aero Technium Mgs have built a long-standing reputation as the go to long range casting reels that can stand up to the elements in any given angling situation. With phenomenal casting performance balanced with smooth, reliable and balanced retrieval the new XTD/XSD models have once again raised the bar and maintained its spot as the pinnacle of Shimano reel technology and the ultimate long distance casting tool.
When the target species may have pushed out of range of many other anglers, the greatest benefit of these reels is their ability to assist with the extreme casts to the horizon to effectively present baits in the strike zone. These extreme long range casts are further enhanced when pairing these reels up with one of our specimen rod ranges such as the TX Ultra A which complement each other perfectly.
Furthermore, with cult dark aesthetics and subtle chrome highlights on the XTE and a liquid metal finish on the XSE, these reels are a work of art and an absolute joy to look at whilst in anticipation for what lies ahead in your session.
