In some recent films and also on Youtube, Matze shows that a well working bottom mount is also an absolute must in the box of a pike angler. Longer distances, secure anchoring of the bait at greater depths (from 4m), or offering the baits in moderate currents, at inlets or weirs, works perfectly with this set of a stand-up basic assembly. The lead holds the line away from the bottom and ensures optimal bite indication in combination with the MK bite indicators. The large eyelet also allows 0.38mm monofilament lines to slide through smoothly without giving resistance to the pike when picking up the bait.
