In collaboration with Norwegian professional Rainer Korn we have developed a reel specifically for targeted fishing for coalfish, hake and mackerel. The reel is equipped with BALZER Depth Control Technology (DCT for short).
The electronic DEPTH CONTROL TECHNOLOGY system allows you to find the desired water depth again and again. When you get a bite briefly press the DCT button. A beep confirms that the depth has been saved. If you now lower the bait again a beep will sound when you have reached the saved depth. This allows you to find the exact position in which you previously got the bite.
An invaluable advantage when you are fishing for schooling fish such as coalfish, hake, mackerel and so on, which usually stay in the middle of the water.
If the school is no longer in the saved position and you find fish at a different depth simply press the DCT button and the new depth will be updated.
Coalfish love fast-moving bait. That's why the reel has an ultra high-speed gear ratio of 8.1:1!
Rainer's hint: Load the reel with Ironline Multicolor which changes color every 10m. If the depth sounder shows fish at 50m for example, lower the bait and count 5 colors of the line. Then press the DCT button. I am now at the right depth and can always find it thanks to the DCT. Operates with 2 CR 2032 batteries (included).
