Balzer Aaligator by Matze Koch: The Revolution with Smart Bite-Sensing
The Aaligator series, developed in collaboration with Matze Koch, is the world’s first rod series featuring an integrated smart bite indicator built directly into the tip guide. The concept is brilliantly simple: in standby mode, the LED in the tip ring glows green. As soon as a fish takes the bait and sets the tip in motion, the color changes to bright red. This visual feedback makes night fishing for eel, zander, and burbot more comfortable than ever, because you can instantly see every movement at the bait—even in complete darkness. The high-quality electronics provide around 40 hours of illumination and are powered by a compact CR 435 rod battery.
But it’s not just the electronics that impress—the Aaligator is a true quality rod. Built from IM-7 carbon fiber, the blank delivers the dynamics needed for long casts and enough backbone to steer a strong eel away from snags with confidence. The full Titanium SiC guide setup ensures smooth line flow, while the classic cork handle provides comfortable handling and a premium look. The Aaligator combines cutting-edge sensor technology with proven rod-building craftsmanship—making it the ultimate choice for all bait anglers who don’t want to miss a single bite at night.
